Christa McJunkin, Water Resource Specialist
After living in Ohio, upstate New York,
Long Island and Southern California, Christa moved with her family
from to Scottsdale,
Arizona
in 1988. After graduating
from Saguaro High School,
she attended Northern
Arizona
University
and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science
with an emphasis in Management in 1996.
An honors seminar about water in the west from both the
scientific and policy viewpoints began Christa’s interest in
hydrology and water regulation.
Christa spent nearly six years at the Arizona Department of
Water Resources in the Office of Assured and Adequate Water Supply,
eventually
becoming
the program’s manager.
While at ADWR, Christa attended Arizona
State
University and graduated
with a Masters of Public Administration in 2000.
In 2003, Christa left ADWR to join the water resource section
of Fluid Solutions.
While at
Fluid Solutions Christa has spent much of her efforts at guiding clients
through the intersections of State water laws dealing with quantity
and quality.
Land and
subdivision development clients have benefited from her specialized
experience in Assured Water Supply issues.
Other projects include a water use mitigation study in
support of an Biological Opinion and Environmental Impact Statement
for Customs and Border Protection, evaluating system and well
capacity for the Maricopa Water District, drafting a non-potable
supply plan, gaining approval for effluent reuse and a State-wide
investigation of acquirable water supplies for the Central Arizona
Groundwater Replenishment District.
Christa is married to John and they have two sons aged 8 and 2.
Christa enjoys reading, music and volunteering in her son’s
classroom. She is also the
Treasurer for Cubs Scout Pack 984.
